CHESTERFIELD, MO — September 1, 2026 — skinBe Med Spa, known for combining the art of aesthetics + science of wellness, today announced the official launch of Functional by Be, a new functional wellness division created to bring a deeper, more individualized approach to health, performance and longevity.
Founded by skinBe Founder and CEO Beth Donaldson, Board Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner, Functional by Be represents the next evolution of the skinBe mission: helping people not only look their best, but better understand what is happening within their bodies and become more intentional about how they feel, function and age.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or isolated health concerns, Functional by Be takes a whole-person approach. The experience is designed to evaluate interconnected areas including nutrition, metabolic health, hormones, gut health, energy, sleep, stress, inflammation, body composition and lifestyle factors to uncover patterns and opportunities for optimization.
Clients move through a structured process that may include comprehensive assessments, advanced laboratory analysis, individualized wellness optimization plans, nutrition and supplement strategies, lifestyle recommendations, progress tracking and ongoing accountability based on the program selected.
“Functional by Be was created because I believe feeling fine shouldn’t have to be the finish line,” said Beth Donaldson, Founder and CEO of skinBe Med Spa. “So many people are doing everything they think they’re supposed to do: eating better, exercising, trying to sleep well and taking care of themselves and yet they still don’t feel fully like themselves. They know something is missing, but they don’t know where to look. I wanted to create an experience that helps people connect the dots, understand their bodies on a deeper level and build an intentional roadmap toward feeling, functioning and aging at their highest potential.”
Donaldson completed an intensive functional medicine education program and became a Board Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner in March 2026. Her training expanded upon areas including functional nutrition, gut health, hormone optimization, thyroid function, metabolic health, sleep and stress, detoxification, mitochondrial health and clinical assessment.
The launch also builds upon skinBe Med Spa’s broader philosophy that aesthetics and wellness are deeply connected.
Since its founding in 2017, skinBe Med Spa has evolved beyond the traditional medical spa model by integrating advanced aesthetics, body optimization and wellness services. Functional by Be extends that philosophy further by creating a dedicated pathway for clients who want to understand and optimize their health from the inside out.

Functional by Be is built around the understanding that two people with similar goals may require completely different strategies.
Each client’s experience begins with a comprehensive assessment designed to establish a clearer picture of current health, lifestyle, goals and opportunities for optimization. From there, clients receive an individualized roadmap and structured support throughout their program.
Functional by Be will launch with three signature experiences:
The Reset — 90 Days
A focused foundation for clients ready to identify key optimization priorities, establish an individualized strategy and create meaningful momentum.
The Restore — 6 Months
A deeper optimization experience providing extended implementation, accountability and support for clients seeking more comprehensive change over time.
The Elevated Concierge — 6 Months
Functional by Be’s highest-touch experience, offering enhanced access, expanded reviews, priority coordination and concierge-level support.
Functional by Be will be available both in person through skinBe Med Spa in Chesterfield and virtually, allowing the program to serve clients beyond the St. Louis area.
Limited Founding Client Enrollment Opens September 1
To maintain the individualized nature of the experience, Functional by Be will initially accept a limited number of Founding Functional by Be clients beginning September 1, 2026.
“This is bigger than launching another service at skinBe,” Donaldson added. “Functional by Be represents where I believe wellness is going; more personalized, more proactive, more connected and more intentional. My goal is to give people knowledge about their own bodies and then help turn that knowledge into action.”
