I’ve had a few curious people ask “Why do I need the assessment if I know what treatment I am interested in?” I’m here to answer that question and shine some light on the importance of the assessment.
One of the biggest reasons we do a complementary assessment with first time clients is because this gives the nurse time to go over your medical history to make sure you are able to receive treatments without any allergies or complications. During the assessment the nurse will take a look at your area of concern and go over your goals. Sometimes clients think they know what treatment they need but during the assessment our highly trained and certified nurses will explain what they recommend that would best suit your needs and goals.
The nurse will go over the different types of treatments, products, and prices during the assessment to help educate and give accurate information before you receive any treatment. The assessment takes around 30 minutes to complete. After you and the nurse have discussed your medical history, your goals, the recommendations and treatment plan, the nurse will offer treatments that same day just in case you’d like to go ahead and get started working towards your goals!
The nurse will also recommend skincare products based on your goals and concerns during the assessment. We highly recommend using medical grade skincare products at home to help maintain the treatments you receive at the clinic. Skincare products and treatments work together to get optimal results. To help put it in perspective we like to say ” You wouldn’t go to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned once or twice a year without brushing your teeth every day to see results.”
Another great question I get asked is “I’ve gone to another Med Spa before and I know what treatment I want.” Even if you have gone to another clinic before, our nurses still need to go over your medical history, concerns, and goals with you so they can make sure to give you the treatments that our nurses recommend. Each clinic is different so it’s important for our nurses to do an assessment with you.
