4 Non-Conventional, Medical Uses For Botox or Dysport

Here at skinBe we have our Master Nurse Injectors perform all Neuromodulator treatments.

Botox and Dysport can treat more than just wrinkles!

  • TMJ (Jaw Pain):Neuromodulators  for TMJ can be highly effective. Botox treatments significantly decrease pain and increase mouth movements for three months following the treatment.

  • Chronic Migraines:Neuromodulators have also brought relief to many people who suffer from chronic medical conditions including chronic migraines. Treatments of botulinum toxin injectables may also be used to treat chronic migraines. These injections, known as neuromodulating drugs (such as Botox, Dysport)  are taken up by the nerves and interfere with pain-associated neurotransmission.
  • Hyperhidrosis: Sweating is normal. In fact, it’s essential: Humans need to sweat in order to regulate body temperature. But some people sweat much more than others in a variety of places; this is where tox injections come to good use, using  botulinum toxin to block the nerve signals responsible for sweating, stopping the sweat glands from producing too much sweat. Retreatment is typically needed in four to six months, as the nerves regenerate. Over time, however, patients can go longer between treatments.
  • Bladder incontinence:  Tox is one option to treat urge incontinence or overactive bladder in people who have not had success with other treatment options. Bladder incontinence treatment using botulinum toxin should be administered by a Urologist. However, at skinBe we have the EmSella available as first line treatment.
