Did you know that there are different types of facial cleansers for every type of skin? If you are oily, sensitive, normal; we have you covered. Here at skinBe Med Spa we offer three different types of facial cleansers: Obagi Gentle Cleanser, Obagi Foaming Gel, and our skinBe Chamomile Cleanser. If you are having trouble figuring out what facial cleanser would be best for your skin, here are some facts about each one!
The Obagi Gentle Cleanser is a mild, facial cleanser that gently removes impurities, oil, and makeup to leave skin clean and fresh. It is gentle enough to remove eye makeup. This cleanser is great for normal to dry skin types. It’s important to cleanse your face because dirt and pollution accumulate at the surface of your skin and could potentially contribute to breakouts, dehydration, and aging.
The Obagi Foaming Gel will deeply cleanse your pores to remove impurities like dirt, oil and other pollutants and will also make your skin feel fresh. This cleanser is great for clients who have oily skin. If you have oily skin, you still must wear moisturizer. Adding a moisturizer to help protect the skin barrier will signal to your skin that it no longer needs to produce such copious amounts of sebum.
The skinBe Chamomile Facial Cleanser is amazing for normal to super sensitive skin. It is formulated to replenish, moisturize, and nourish the skin while removing impurities. The chamomile and ginger essential oils calm and soothe skin while also reducing redness and irritation. The algae peptides help firm and smooth skin texture. The brown algae extract clears away pollution and is gentle enough to remove makeup (even around the eyes).
Here are some Face Washing Tips:
1.) We strongly recommend cleansing your face twice before bed to make sure your face is completely cleansed before going to sleep.
2.) Many people make the mistake of cleansing their face too quickly. Take your time washing your face to ensure that you are removing all the impurities.
3.) Try to not tug on the skin while cleansing. Tugging and scrubbing the skin can result in aging more quickly while also irritating the skin. Gently use your fingertips to properly use your facial cleanser.
4.) Use lukewarm water to rinse and pat dry to avoid tugging on the skin. Using hot water can cause dilation of blood vessels and breakage of delicate tissue. It can also cause the skin to become dry and flaky.
5.) Don’t forget to also wash your neck and décolleté area as well! These areas can also get oil and dirt debris buildup. It can cause acne and aging of the skin if not cleansed.
Cleansing your face is the first step of anyone’s skincare routine. So, making sure your cleanser is the best for your skin type is very important. Someone who has oily skin vs someone who has sensitive skin will require different facial cleansers. So next time you are in the clinic stop by the front desk to find out what cleanser would work best for your skin type!
