During the summer it is just as important to keep up with your skincare routine and treatments. Remember, consistency is the key for reaching your goals so don’t put your goals on the back burner just because it’s summer.

Our Dermaplane and Chemical Peel helps exfoliate the skin by removing the soft facial hair and dead skin cells. The results help make the skin look fresher and feel smoother while also allowing your skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin. It helps diminish fine lines and wrinkles. The sun’s UVA rays can cause the skin to age more quickly. So it’s important to keep up your Dermaplane and Chemical Peel treatments even in the summer. We recommend not being in direct sunlight for 24 hours after receiving the Chemical Peel.

Another great treatment to upkeep in the summer is our SkinPen (Micro-needling). This treatment helps with collagen reproduction. Clients who receive this treatment will notice their fine lines, wrinkles, and pore size start to minimize, scars and dark spots start to fade, and their skin looks more evenly textured. We recommend staying out of direct sun exposure for 72 hours after receiving the SkinPen treatment.

Regardless of what treatment you may receive, we strongly encourage wearing a medical grade SPF since the sun’s UVA rays can cause fines and wrinkles even if it’s cloudy and raining. You may be asking yourself “Why do I need a medical grade SPF? I have sunscreen from my local grocery store.”. Medical grade SPF will protect you from both UVB and UVA rays while non medical grade will only protect you from the UVB rays. UVA rays cause fine lines and wrinkles and UVB rays cause the skin to burn and you need to be protected from both.

Here at skinBe Med Spa we offer two types of medical grade SPF. We have Obagi Sun Shield SPF 50 and has a matte like finish so it does not leave the skin feeling oily. Our other medical grade SPF we offer is our skinBe Daily Replenishing SPF 30+ that can be used as a makeup primer as well!

So next time you are in for your Dermaplane/Chemical Peel or SkinPen treatment, make sure you are stocked up on your medical grade SPF as well!
